ITM are not compromising on respecting workers' rights according to international standards as stated in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Declaration of the International Labor Organization on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR).
In addition, we comply with effective laws or policies in Indonesia that protect workers' rights.

ITM puts aspects of Business and Human Rights as one of the business risks. Assessment of this is carried out periodically and gradually starting from the scope of the company in large, its subsidiaries to the entire supply chain.
ITM has carried out the initial stages of human rights due diligence through assessing human rights risks and impacts during the pandemic using the Human Rights Due Diligence and Covid-19: Rapid Self Assessment for Business guidelines compiled by the United Nation Development Program. ITM has also adopted PRISMA (Human Rights Risk Assessment) issued by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia.
Together with all stakeholders we are committed to prevent all forms of modern slavery including forced labor and child labor. This requires real action, collaboration and continuous and comprehensive improvement in every value chain.
We ensure all workers have clear and transparent contracts, checking workers in each value chain and ensuring the recruitment process is in accordance with regulations.
ITM ensures that all employees fully get their rights, such as civil rights, religious rights, political rights and various other basic rights. Not only that, ITM facilitates employees in exercising these rights, for example through religious holidays, traditional holidays and so on.
Political rights are carefully regulated to ensure that the political needs of parallel employees are met by strengthening ITM's position as a business entity that is free from any practical politics and interest.
We ensure that resettlement is the last resort in the operations. Every resettlement activity is well planned, in accordance with regulations and also taking into account the needs of the community.
