ITM signs an agreement with PLN Tanjung Jati B to supply 500,000 tons of coal per year for 5 years to the state-owned company. The coal for PLN will be supplied by ITM's subsidiary, PT Indominco Mandiri.
ITM's Marketing Director, Jusnan Ruslan, signed the sales agreement on July 18, 2019, at the PLN office in Jakarta.
The agreement also states that PT IMM will send 67,000 tons of coal to PLN Tanjung Jati B with slightly different specifications on one barge as a trial. If successful, the contract term will be extended.
Located in Tubanan Village in Jepara, Central Java, PLN Tanjung Jati B produces 4x 660 Megawatts, or about 12% of the electricity demand for Java and Bali. The annual coal demand for PLN Tanjung Jati B is 4.8 million tons.
This sales contract demonstrates that ITM is committed to its obligation to supply coal for domestic consumption (DMO) and support domestic energy needs, in line with the government's aggressive policy in building energy infrastructure.
